The Coalition is focused on erasing stereotyping and prejudice based on race, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, economic status, nationality, and physical or mental abilities and promoting civility in the more than 20 communities in the Greater Danbury Area.
Description:
The Coalition includes members from agencies, community groups, businesses, government departments, school organizations, churches, and synagogues as well as individuals committed to addressing issues of diversity and inclusion in our region.
History:
The Coalition grew from the Greater Danbury Coalition for a World of Difference (AWOD) which operated through the Anti-Defamation League of B'Nai B'rith with a mission to erase prejudice through education. The Greater Danbury Coalition for a Community United was incorporated in June 1995.
