The C.A.R.D. Foundation exists to provide the skills necessary for children and adolescents with attentional, learning, emotional, and behavioral disorders to succeed in home, school, work, and community settings.
Description:
The C.A.R.D. Foundation works to provide a therapeutic summer camp for children with attentional, learning, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Through family centered counseling and experiential education we provide consistent and coordinated opportunities for high-risk youth to reach their academic and social potential, develop their sense of personal worth, and affirm their ability to be contributing members of society and lifelong learners.
History:
The C.A.R.D. Foundation was established in 1997. The driving force behind the Foundation was the collective voices of parents, community leaders, and schools advocating for expanded programs for children and youth with attention and related disorders. In response, the C.A.R.D. Foundation launched the Youth Enrichment Program in the summer of 1997. Due to the significant gains made by our youth, the program has been able to grown and expand into our current B.O.O.S.T. (Building Opportunities for Our Students to Thrive) Program.
