The Danbury Visiting Nurse Association, has been the leader in home care and community health services in Northern Fairfield County and its surrounding towns for almost a century. Our mission is to provide nursing care, therapies, medical social work and other nursing services within the home using the most advanced clinical practices. Our community health programs inform the public on the causes and prevention of disease, and provides short-term health services to the uninsured and underinsured on the Wellness on Wheels Van.

The Danbury VNA is a non-profit community home health agency serving the greater Danbury area and surrounding towns since 1911. The agency provides skilled nursing care; home health aides; medical social work; speech, occupational and physical therapy; maternal child/health care; specialty clinicians in respiratory therapy, cardiac care,wound care, diabetes care,pain management,and home infusion therapy. We are the area leader in community health services providing educational seminars on health topics, blood pressure screenings, flu clinics, and health services to the uninsured and underinsured through the Wellness on Wheels Van.
History:
The Danbury VNA was founded in 1911 by Dr. Sophia Penfield and a group of civic minded individuals who saw the need to provide health care services to individuals within the home setting. From that day forward the Danbury VNA has expanded to provide state of the art home care and community health services to the residents of the Greater Danbury area. The Danbury VNA is a state licensed, Medicare certified agency accredited with the Joint Commission of the Association of Healthcare Organizations. The Danbury VNA is a private non-profit and an affiliate of Danbury Health Systems.
