ARC's Mission is "to facilitate interfaith cooperation and other partnerships to alleviate the causes of violence, suffering and hate while advancing peace, justice and human dignity." Volunteers help sustain the mission especially by offering support services: 1) providing friendly receptionist services, 2)confidential data entry, and 3) by hosting small drives for "Welcome Baskets" to give to persons who are newly housed. We have ongoing need for Welcome Baskets. The Executive Director or Office Coordinator can email a list of contents for a Welcome Basket (about 12 items) upon your request! Our phone: 203-792-9450.
Description:
The Mission is implemented through 5 core programs: 1) Domestic Violence Prevention, 2) Emergency Aid Network, 3) Refugee & Immigrant Resettlement, 4) Housing Advocacy and Dream Homes Community Center, and 5) The Meeting House -- includes ARC Angels and other season projects for volunteers.
History:
ARC was founded over thirty years ago as a collaborative effort among area clergy to meet the needs of the community that were too large for any one congregation to meet.
