The Volunteer Center impacts the community through its Comprehensive Volunteer Services Program which, recruits, matches and refers volunteers who want to share their skills, talents and time with non-profit human service agencies; provides volunteer management training workshops and recruits, trains and deploys board members to area non-profits; the Western CT Business Volunteer Council (BVC) convenes area businesses to promote employee volunteerism and sponsors projects to benefit children and families; Court-based Community Service Program places people in the non-profit sector to make reparation by giving back to their community. Monthly board meetings are held the third Tuesday evening of the month.
