Camp AmeriKids is a residential summer camping program for children who are infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS. Camp AmeriKids recruits its camper population from the tri-state areas of New York, Connecticut and New Jersey and is offered at no cost to our families. Camp AmeriKids is located in Carmel, NY, an easy commute from NYC. This summer Camp AmeriKids will host two nine-day sessions: Session 1: July 22-30, Session 2: August 3-11. These dates include one day of mandatory orientation for all volunteer staff, prior to the start of camp. Come spend your summer with us making a difference to some very special children. We have numerous positions available, please take a minute to check our listing. Application deadline for Staff is May 31, 2006. In order to receive an application, please contact the Camp office either by email or phone.
In order to participate in this program, volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, and commit to working at least one session, nine days in duration, during the months of July &/or August. This includes a one-day orientation training session, prior to the arrival of the children, during which all volunteers will receive training in HIV/AIDS, child development, team building, as well as the safety procedures of Camp. You can participate in both sessions as well, if you would like to. This opportunity is sponsored by: Camp AmeriKids
