The mission of the Greenwich Choral Society is to promote the enjoyment of choral music, foster an appreciation of classical music among children and assist talented high school seniors in pursuing vocal studies at the college level.

Description:
The Greenwich Choral Society is a group of about 140 singers from Fairfield County and northeastern Westchester. The purpose of the organization is to promote the enjoyment of choral music of all kinds, from Bach to Brubeck.

Each year the Greenwich Choral Society performs a variety of choral music at several area concerts, always including a holiday program in Greenwich in December.
At many of our concerts we invite area groups to perform with us. In the past few years these have included the New Canaan High School Madrigals, Christ Church Boys’ Choir, gospel choirs from Stamford and Bridgeport and Greenwich Academy Madrigals.

The choral society also annually awards scholarships to talented students from area public and independent high schools who intend to pursue the study of vocal music in college. This year we have initiated a “Student Singer” program in which we sponsor talented high school singers by paying their dues and music fees so they can join our organization.

History:
The Greenwich Choral Society was founded 83 years ago and performs several times a year in area churches and concert halls with professional soloists and orchestra. This season marks Maestro Paul F. Mueller's 11th anniversary as Music Director.

The Choral Society has performed twice at England's prestigious Aldeburgh Festival. Over the past six years they have sung in major cathedrals in Paris, Florence, Rome, Vienna, Prague, London and Oxford. They have also appeared with the New York Philharmonic, the Orchestra of St. Luke's, the American Symphony Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, the Stamford Symphony and the Greenwich Symphony.
