The Mobile Medical Healthcare Program is dedicated to bringing health screening and education to the residents of Stamford. We travel in a RV Winnebago to local areas to bring healthcare to our residents in need.
Description:
The City of Stamford Health Department provides the community with public health and saftey issues. We provide services for vaccinations for children and adults. We run clinics Well Child Services, STDs, TB, and Womens' Clinic. We now have a new van program so that we may travel to our residents who are unable to reach us. We are working on breaking the barriers of transportation, financial issues and we go into the community to educate the public on diseases such as Lyme Disease, Skin Cancer,the Flu, and other areas. We travel to Cove Island,the Nature Center and other sites to do this.
History:
The Stamford Health Department is a traditional municipal health department. It has been in existance for over 75 years. It is responsible for the protection and education of our community.
