  5. Description:
Community Answers, a United Way Agency located in the Greenwich Library, is a information and referral service about the Greenwich Community. With the help of our two on-line databases, volunteers answer questions about local organizations, services and events. Questions range from, "Where can I play tennis?" to "I'm in an abusive relationship, where can I get help?" Telephones are answered by volunteers, Monday-Friday 9-5, and by library staff in the evenings and on weekends. Volunteer are asked to commit to one regular shift each week. These shifts are either 9-12AM, 12-2:30PM or 2:30-5PM

    History:
Community Answers was started 35 years ago by a group of volunteers and a rolodex. The mission back then, helping people find the services they need, still has not changed. Today, with the help of computer databases, Community Answers has information on thousands of organizations and continues to link people to the services and organizations they seek.
