Volunteer Firefighter
![]() The Turn of River Fire Department is currently looking for men and women of the Stamford community to come help make this city a better place to live. We offer superior training to all interested individuals, flexible volunteer schedules, and an all around great time. We don't require any past experience in the fire fighting or medical services. We pride ourselves on our workmanship and professionalism. Volunteer opportunity outside the emergency service field also exist within the department. All applicants must be at least 17 years of age, and either live or work a minimum of 32 hrs. weekly in the city of Stamford. All interested persons are able to pick up an application at either of our two stations located at 268 Turn of River Road, just behind the Food Emporium on High Ridge Road, or at 50 Roxburry Road, just south of Westhill High School.
