The Giving Tree provides food, clothing and many other life necessities to children and families in need. We need you to help us make contact with those that can help us fulfill our mission of care. As our "virtual volunteer" you will have the unusual opportunity to volunteer your time and talent from home using your computer and telephone. There are plenty of details that need attention. We are looking for someone that is willing to do one, some or all of these things: *Call restaurants to ask for regular meal donations *Answer volunteer inquiries via email *Stay in touch with existing volunteers on special projects *Maintain list of who and when for food donations for our Thursday and Sunday feeding program, Project FEED. Although you will be in contact with the Director and regular office personnel, you don't need to leave your home to be a big help to Tucson's community of people in need.
You'll be briefed on the programs operated by The Giving Tree so you can adequately and accurately answer questions. Although you don't need to drive, you will need to have access to a computer with internet capabilities and a telephone. This opportunity is sponsored by: The Giving Tree Outreach Program

I am 9 years old. My family and I volunteer with the Giving Tree Feeding Program and we think it is very fun! We have met some very nice volunteers, and best of all, we have met some very nice homeless people, too! I love going there on Thursdays and Sundays! posted by Robyn123 on July 1, 2008 |

I have gained a greater understanding of the needy.

Volunteering has made me gain a deeper appreciation for food, clothing, my bed, and everything else that I own. I would suggest everyone to volunteer their time to help the people in need.
This program is well organized! posted on June 23, 2008 |

I volunteered with my sorority, Chi Omega. I gained the realization of what life is really like for some people. I also learned about different organizations within the Tucson community that work to help many people get back into a good state of life. posted by jaa on April 8, 2008 |
