Imagine what your life would be like if you could not read. If your answer is “I cannot imagine it!”, then this opportunity is for you. We have eager adult students waiting for a tutor to help them with Basic Literacy Skills and/or learning to speak English in 1-to-1 and group settings. You don’t need to be a teacher, just be able to read and bring your patience to help an adult transform their life as they improve their ability to read, write and/or speak English. We’ll give you the tools, techniques and support to help you be successful. Please join us in our vision: 100% literacy through 100% community involvement.
Our programs require a high school education or equivalency and able to read above a 7th grade level. Our English Language Acquisition Program requires a one-year commitment and the ability to meet two times a week with a student in most cases. Our Basic Literacy program requires individuals to live in Tucson year round, be computer literate, and tutor two times a week with a one year commitment.
