Volunteers are needed to pick-up food from a downtown Tucson location to be delivered to a 4650 E Eastland Ave at the corner of Swan between Broadway and 22nd Ave. The company making this food available requests that food be picked up between noon and 3PM, Tuesdays and Fridays. You will be picking up prepared meals that will be served at our feeding program. Whether your commitment is for once or twice a week, your help is very valuable to us - and to those that are hungry. Our vehicles are fully loaded already. It would be necessary to use your own car or truck for these deliveries. This opportunity is sponsored by: The Giving Tree Outreach Program

I am 9 years old. My family and I volunteer with the Giving Tree Feeding Program and we think it is very fun! We have met some very nice volunteers, and best of all, we have met some very nice homeless people, too! I love going there on Thursdays and Sundays! posted by Robyn123 on July 1, 2008 |

I have gained a greater understanding of the needy.

Volunteering has made me gain a deeper appreciation for food, clothing, my bed, and everything else that I own. I would suggest everyone to volunteer their time to help the people in need.

I volunteered with my sorority, Chi Omega. I gained the realization of what life is really like for some people. I also learned about different organizations within the Tucson community that work to help many people get back into a good state of life. posted by jaa on April 8, 2008 |
