Books, puzzles and games, oh my!

The children at Grace Home would love your individual attention. Often their parents' lives have been so busy with just getting through the day that these kids haven't been read to, learned their alphabet or numbers, or had the undivided attention of a nurturing adult. Come read, put together puzzles, play or teach a new game to the homeless and displaced children of Grace Home. The Grace Home is home to children from birth to age 18. These kids are placed here voluntarily. They receive nurturing from qualified foster parents, a cozy bed of their own, a place for their own belongings, and nutritious meals and snacks. Often the experience of a cohesive family household is brand new to them. They would love your attention and would learn at the same time.

As you might well image, we are very protective of the fragile nature of our Grace Home Children. A background check, fingerprinting, references and interview are required prior to admission to Grace Home. If you are compelled to be an adult friend/mentor to a child, and are willing to complete the criteria, we are waiting for you. So are our children!

This is a very fun thing to do!!!!!!!
I am 9 years old. My family and I volunteer with the Giving Tree Feeding Program and we think it is very fun! We have met some very nice volunteers, and best of all, we have met some very nice homeless people, too! I love going there on Thursdays and Sundays!

I have gained a greater understanding of the needy.
Volunteering has made me gain a deeper appreciation for food, clothing, my bed, and everything else that I own. I would suggest everyone to volunteer their time to help the people in need. This program is well organized!

It was very rewarding
I volunteered with my sorority, Chi Omega. I gained the realization of what life is really like for some people. I also learned about different organizations within the Tucson community that work to help many people get back into a good state of life.
