The Grace Home for Homeless Children is looking for qualified house parents to provide care to our residents 2 to 3 days a week. Grace Home houses homeless or displaced children, placed voluntarily in our care. They range in age from birth to age 18. House parents are expected to perform the everyday functions of any household: cooking, keeping the kitchen and household tidy and clean, do laundry as needed, and most importantly, be a nurturing, loving parent to children of different ages and temperaments. A background in psychology or equivalent studies is desirable but not mandatory. A volunteer application must be completed which includes finger print screening. The days of relief are open and negotiable. This opportunity is sponsored by: The Giving Tree Outreach Program

I am 9 years old. My family and I volunteer with the Giving Tree Feeding Program and we think it is very fun! We have met some very nice volunteers, and best of all, we have met some very nice homeless people, too! I love going there on Thursdays and Sundays! posted by Robyn123 on July 1, 2008 |

I have gained a greater understanding of the needy.

Volunteering has made me gain a deeper appreciation for food, clothing, my bed, and everything else that I own. I would suggest everyone to volunteer their time to help the people in need.
This program is well organized! posted on June 23, 2008 |

I volunteered with my sorority, Chi Omega. I gained the realization of what life is really like for some people. I also learned about different organizations within the Tucson community that work to help many people get back into a good state of life. posted by jaa on April 8, 2008 |
