Programs available are: (1)lodging for families who live 30 miles or more from metro Tucson and who have been referred to the Tucson area because of their child's medical needs. A $10 nightly fee is requested and a $20 deposit is required, which can be refunded upon checkout or applied to rent. (2) The Ronald McDonald Family Room at University Medical Center is available to any family who has a child in pediatric services at UMC. The room provides snacks, coffee, a washer/dryer, computers, and a shower and toiletries. There is no fee for use of this room. |

| Eligibility Requirements: |
|
To stay at the House: must be referred by an area medical provider; child must be 18 years of age or younger; family must live more than 30 miles outside of metro Tucson.
For the Family Room at UMC: open to immediate family members of any child receiving pediatric in-patient or out-patient clinic care at UMC. |
| Intake Procedure: |
|
House: Once referral is received from a medical person involved with the family, the family is asked to complete paperwork to register them as guests of the House. Wristbands are given to registered families and they are required to wear them during their stay. House rules are reviewed, tour is given, and the family is assigned a room. Two kitchens and kitchen equipment are provided, as are washer/dryers and basic pantry food. Community groups prepare dinners for families almost nightly. Translation services for over 150 languages are available. |

Some insurance companies cover lodging for medical purposes, but not all do. AHCCCS and other sources may cover lodging expenses as well. Cash, checks and major credit cards are accepted. |
