The mission of The University of Arizona Police Department is to provide a secure atmosphere conducive to the education, research, employment and daily community lifestyles of the institution. To accomplish this mission, The University Police Officers and employees of the department must be: Unique in their operations; dedicated to the community in which they serve and live; aware of the cultural diversity and differences of individuals; fair and impartial while performing their duties while maintaining continuing interaction and cooperation with the students, faculty and staff of the University, the Tucson community and the balance of the criminal justice system.
Description:
The University of Arizona is a "city within a city." On an average school day we have 50,000 people on our campus. All of the Police Officers employed by the U of A are certified State Peace Officers and have the jurisdictional responsibilities for all crimes and incidents that occur on this campus.
