RSVP recognizes and promotes the value of the wisdom and experience of seniors to our community. RSVP identifies volunteer opportunities within Knox County and recruits seniors according to their interests and abilities toward the enrichment of our community.
Description:
The purpose of RSVP is to give people aged 55 and over opportunities to share their skills and experiences with others that will help the community and themselves through meaningful volunteer services. RSVP is the "matchmaker" of the volunteer and the nonprofit agency.
History:
The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) began nationally in 1971. RSVP was called to serve in 1982 during the World's Fair. The Knoxville RSVP is one of 750 programs within the country and for 25 years continues to serve the county through senior volunteers.
