Nurturing families to health through prevention, treatment and advocacy.

Description:
Founded in 1929, Child & Family Tennessee has been helping vulnerable children and families for over 70 years. Programs include Kids on the Block (KOB), which is an educational service that uses child-size puppets to teach children about important topics such as child abuse, violence, substance abuse, mental health, and personal safety. These programs teach children to live responsibly, fully and safely.

History:
Child & Family operates 34 programs in 33 counties that provide a safety net of services to East Tennessee residents for shelter, treatment, prevention and advocacy. Kids on the Block works to prevent future problems by providing educational puppet shows in all Knox County elementary schools in four primary areas: Personal Safety, Violence Prevention, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse Preventions.
