We are a faith-based organization, starting and ending each day with a devotion/prayer.

We welcome volunteers from all walks of life and from all faiths to help us meet the needs of our patients, families, staff, and the community.

WE HAVE OPPORTUNITIES AT OUR TOWN LOCATION OFF I-275, ST. MARY'S NORTH AT EMORY ROAD AND I-75 (BETWEEN HALLS AND POWELL), RESIDENTIAL HOSPICE IN HALLS, AND HOLSTON HEALTHCARE AND REHAB IN EAST KNOXVILLE ON BOYD'S BRIDGE ROAD.

We greet, escort, transport in wheelchairs, give information, deliver mail and flowers, work in our gift shops, act as patient advocates in many areas of the hospital, and go where we are needed to do whatever is needed. A normal shift is 4 hours, one day a week.

We help and sustain our families and guests and we do the same thing for each other. Volunteering provides an excellent support system to the giver and to the receiver. If you have a little time to spare and a little love to share, please give us a call.

History:
St. Mary's opened it doors during the Great Depression and has faithfully served the community for over 77 years. The original volunteers worked in "guilds", sewing bed sheets and making curtains, etc. In 1952 the guilds combined to form St. Mary's Auxiliary. In '08 we will merge with the Baptist Health System in order to better serve the needs of our community. These are exciting times. Come be a part of our future.
