The Fellowship Center helps outpatients and families combat the emotional, financial, and physical pressure of traumatic illness by providing free lodging. laundry, pantries and transportation to nearby medical facilities and drug stores.
Description:
The Fellowship Center is an outpatient lodging center. Since 1984 this “little bit of home” has aided families coping with serious illnesses. Our services are free of charge. Guests are given a one bedroom apartment for duration of treatment. Outpatients may make reservations, all others may ask to be put on a waiting list for vacant apartments. Three lunches are provided each week in the family room.
History:
In 1992, through the generosity of the Lucille S. Thompson Family Foundation, the program was expanded from four to eighteen furnished apartments and a family room and laundry. These apartments are provided free of charge by Fort Sanders Foundation and Covenant Health.
