NEADS, the National Education for Assistance Dog Services, Inc. is a non-profit organization established to provide Hearing and Service Dogs for people who are deaf or physically disabled. These Assistance Dogs become an extension of their owners and bring security, freedom, independence and relief from social isolation to their human partners.
Description:
NEADS raises and trains Assistance dogs for people who are deaf or physically disabled. We train Hearing Dogs, Service Dogs, Specialty Dogs, and Social Dogs. These dogs are placed with adults and children throughout the United States. Our Princeton, MA campus houses a kennel, training center, and the puppies' Early Learning Center.
History:
NEADS began in 1976 as the Hearing Ear Dog Program providing Hearing Dogs to people who are deaf. Since then, NEADS has graduated over 800 Assitance Dog teams to people who are deaf and physically disabled.
