The Alzheimer's Association works to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research and to enhance care and support for individuals, their families, and caregivers.
Description:
For over 20 years the Alzheimer's Association has provided reliable information; created supportive programs and services; increased resource for dementia research; and influenced changes in public policy. The Greater Dallas Chapter serves Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Grayson, Hunt, Kaufman, Navarro, and Rockwall county.
History:
In 1983, a small group of Dallas area families struck by the devastation of Alzheimer's disease gathered together to offer mutual support and advice. Later that year they joined the national Alzheimer's Association. In 1985, the Greater Dallas Chapter was chartered by the State of Texas. Today the chapter provides services to more than 35,000 people affected by Alzhiemer's disease in the greater Dallas area.
