Hope's Door offers many helpful services to abused women and their children. A warm and comfortable safe haven is offered providing them with food, clothing and other essentials of daily living.

The shelter volunteer provides an invaluable service to our shelter staff and clients. Duties include answering the crisis hot-line, assembling resource and domestic violence information folders, assembling intake folders for new clients, shopping for groceries and household supplies,running errands, performing general clerical duties,transporting donations from the administrative office to the shelter, organizing donation shed, preparing room for in-coming clients, keeping kitchen/pantry/linen closets stocked, transporting clients to appointments, etc.

This volunteer must be dependable, and able to interact well with people and be comfortable working with women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Flexibility in schedule is a plus as volunteer may need to adjust shift hours to meet the needs of a client or the shelter staff. Individual should be able to lift somewhat heavy donations.

Volunteers shifts are available Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Minimum age for volunteer is 17.

 From McKinney take Hwy 75 South to the Plano Parkway exit. Go East on Plano Parkway to Ave F and make a left at the light. Look for The Collin Creek Business Center and make a right. After you turn in take an immediate right and Hope's Door is the last building on your left.
