Currently, we have several departments that would love to work with volunteers. There are physician's clinics on the Avera McKennan campus that would like help assembling packets, making copies, filing, and doing basic office tasks. Human Resources, the Sleep Lab, and Finance Department would also welcome your assistance! Help alphabetizing, labeling and filing is needed in other areas. Avera Prince of Peace apartment residents would like someone to help them with copying, mailing things, making phone calls, etc. Consider one of these opportunities! These opportunities allow you to pick your days and times to volunteer. Volunteers are provided with orientation to the hospital and orientation to the area in which they choose to work. I plan to go to med school. After volunteering this summer at Avera McKennan, I know being a physician or nurse is for me. The staff were just great in teaching me and allowing me to do different things. It was a great experience!

Warm, caring, and supportive is how I would describe Avera McKennan and its staff. The appreciation I receive from the staff and patients is incredible. It is the best job in the world!
