Ozanam Place is a nonprofit agency that provides supportive services and case management to single parent families at risk of homelessness in Belknap County. Ozanam's mission is to empower single parent families with the skills to become responsible, self-sufficient individuals and parents.

Description:
Ozanam Place has three programs. The Peer Support Program provides Thursday Drop-in Hours from 9 to 11, Life Skills Workshops, and Family activities. During drop-in hours, families can stop by and receive help with housing applications, finding resources in the community and any other questions/needs they may have. The Transitional Supportive Services Program is a two year program that provides case management to single parent families who meet our guidelines. Case Managers work with these families to set long and short term goals. They meet with the families approximately once a week. The AfterCare Program is a 3 to 5 year program for families who have graduated from the TSS program. This program provides the family with a once a month meeting (more if needed)with the Case Manager and to discuss any issues that may have come up.

History:
Ozanam Place was established by a task force of human service providers concerned by the number of single parents and children living in poverty in Belknap County. In November 1999, Ozanam Place was incorporated as a 501C3 tax-exempt organization, a board of directors was established, and various local nonprofit organizations provided the seed money to develop the program. Ozanam Place was modeled after Marguerite's Place in Nashua, NH.
