If you enjoy house painting or just like performing house repair projects, why not consider becoming a Maintenance Painting Volunteer at Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site? As part of the park's summer project plan to repair the west porch of Aspet, the home of Augustus Saint-Gaudens, the Maintenance Painting Volunteer will help our grounds staff with preparing and painting a variety of objects to be used for completion of the project. The majority of the project work will focus on painting beams and other house structures. This position is a great opportunity for those interested in home repair to develop or enhance their skills, learn more about building and museum restoration, and make a worthwhile contribution to historic preservation of this wonderful home. Only a couple of positions are available, so please contact Saint-Gaudens today to find out how you could begin donating your time as the Maintenance Painting Volunteer. Any job or other related experience with house painting is helpful, but not necessarily required. Prospective volunteers should have quality communication, listening, and time management skills. A respectful and polite demeanor towards all park staff and visitors is expected. Proper work clothing should be worn. Paint and equipment will be provided by the park. Depending on time availability, one or two volunteers are needed. This opportunity is sponsored by: Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site
