Evenings are usually busy at My Friend's Place. People are returning from work, completing their chores, food is being prepared, and new residents are arriving. This volunteer opportunity will provide assistance to the regular staff person as they perform their evening activities. Your duties would include answering telephones, providing supplies for residents to complete evening chores, checking as chores are completed, helping a mom with her children as dinner is prepared, or preparing an occasional meal. Frequent contact with residents of this shelter is required. Volunteers will receive training, must complete a police record check, and be over age 18 (unless accompanied by a parent). Evening hours are from 4 - 9 PM although a regular (flexible) schedule will be developed. Volunteer one or more evenings per month. This opportunity is sponsored by: My Friend's Place
