The academy works with Adventure Aquarium to provide volunteer opportunities within the aquarium that will enhance their guests' experience and foster a spirit of conservation and appreciation of the aquatic world.
History:
The NJ Academy for Aquatic Sciences operated the NJ State Aquarium for 12 years. In 2004, the aquarium came under new ownership and the academy refocused its goals to concentrate on education, research, and youth development. An integral part of the academy's educational programs is the focus on conservation of aquatic resources. The concept of conserving natural resources is emphasized in all of its programs.
