Description:
Our Day Care Facility in Moorestown, NJ provides a structured, loving, caring environment where our seniors receive socialization, peer support, nutrition, exercise, art, music, crafts, games, discussion groups, etc. Our transportation program provides transportation for frail homebound seniors to medical appointments or grocery shopping. Our services are only going to be in greater demand as the population ages and life expectancies increase. Numerous studies conclude that seniors who remain at home with some degree of freedom enjoy less depression, have fewer health problems and live longer happier lives. We have seen many clients enter our doors, depressed and afraid, speaking very little, only to receive reports from family members that they have seen such positive changes in their loved ones after only a few weeks.
History:
The Tender opened on December 5, 1977 by founder Dr. M. Agnes Gowdey in partnership with the First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown, NJ. We have been providing care to frail seniors and persons with Alzheimer's disease/dementia in Burlington County since that date. Our day care facility continues to be the only non-profit social day care available.
