We make Quilts for Comfort for at-risk babies and young children in our area as well as adult patients at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center. We recognize that we can't solve major problems of health and income, but we can offer comfort in times of stress.
Description:
Our quilts come from community quilting bees held in our area on a regular basis. To date more than 4000 women, men and children have participated and we have delivered more than 4500 Quilts for Comfort. When we set up a quilt bee we bring everything needed including sewing machines, sewing tools and pre-cut quilt kits.
History:
We registered as a non profit in 2000 and we have held more than 255 Community Quilt bees since then. We promote the idea of coming together as a group to quilt and offer support to each other. Everyone who comes can help and experience is not necessary at all.
