Seamen's Center Of Wilmington

The mission of the Seamen's Center of Wilmington, Inc. is to meet the needs of the seafarers who visit the Ports in the State of Delaware. The goal is to make their time in port a rewarding one by providing personal, practical and spiritual assistance. A warm welcome is extended to ease the pain of loneliness and isolation and to offer a respite from the hazards of the sea.
Description:
The Seamen's Center provides a place for seamen to come to watch TV, make phone calls, purchase toiletries, candy, etc., obtain free van service to shopping and a place where they can spend time off the ship.
History:
The Center was founded in 1989 with 10 volunteers. We have grown into a new facility with over 50 volunteers.

From I495 take the exit to Route 9A (Port of Wilmington). At the dead end turn right and come to the port gate. The center is the small yellow building directly on the right after you enter the gate.
