TRAC is an organization that is committed to the goal of providing safe and beneficial therapeutic horseback riding to individuals with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities. It is our mission at TRAC to improve the well-being of our students, through equine assisted activities, by encouraging them to set goals and providing them with the motivation to achieve those goals.
Description:
Therapeutic riding gives individuals with disabilities an opportunity to be independent and to enjoy a recognized sport. It has benefits that are physical, mental, emotional, and social. Volunteers are the backbone of our program because they help provide a safe and beneficial riding program by acting as leaders and sidewalkers. Volunteers are also needed to help with fundraising activities. individuals that participate in this program develop relationships with the instructor, the volunteers, and the special therapy horse.
History:
TRAC started in November of 2006 with eight riders and 10 volunteers. Currently we have 51 riders and 30 volunteers. We, at TRAC, are hoping to expand the program and give other an opportunity to experience this great activity.
