The Arc of Atlantic County improves the lives of people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in our community. Through direct services, advocacy, education and prevention activities, we work in partnership with individuals and their families to make choices possible about how and where they live, learn,play and work. We strive to help people with developmental and intellectual disabilities "live the lives they choose."
Description:
The Arc of Atlantic County provides a wide range of services for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities to include residential group homes,supervised apartments,family support, and respite services.It also has recreation, employment, case management, and adult training services. Volunteers may choose from many choices including helping out at our Thrift Shop in Ventnor, fixing up our group homes, helping with weekend socialization programs, and various fundraisers.
History:
The Arc of Atlantic County is a private not for profit organization that has been making a positive difference in the lives of people with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families, since its founding in 1961. It is a member of The Arc of the United States along with more than 2,000 similar organizations nationwide.
