This organization will serve as a support and mentoring program for adolescent females. Our mission is “To provide adolescent girls from depressed socio-economic, disadvantaged, and traditionally overlooked neighborhoods the educational, social, and emotional support to make positive choices for themselves, their families, and communities to succeed in higher education, enriching careers, and healthy relationships.”

Description:
The organization sets to achieve this support through the collaborative efforts of concerned and dedicated women in our community serving as educators, volunteers, and mentors. Every 1st and 3rd Saturday we offer workshops, presentations, and culturally enriching trips to promote positive and attainable goals and lifestyles for middle-school girls (ages 11-15). We have the following components:
-Relationships
-Conflict Resolution
-Etiquette
-Health & Wellness
-Public Speaking Skills
-Intro to Careers
-Educational Tutoring
All services are provided free of cost. Our focus is to empower young at-risk inner city females, in the Southeastern Pennsylvania region, with the skills necessary for them to adequately compete with other young people. We are dedicated to supporting a well-rounded young lady, as opposed to just one aspect. We also targets young ladies who may not be reached by other programs and feel more comfortable working with women they can relate to based on some sort of shared commonality.

History:
This organization was envisioned in 2004 by two sisters from West Philadelphia. The official incorporation of this new nonprofit organization for adolescent females occurred on January 25, 2008 within the state of Pennsylvania and we are tax exempt as listed under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Together with the help of family, friends, and a dedicated board of directors we will begin offering services January 3, 2009 at a local community center in Southwest Philadelphia.
