Programs Employing People is a non-profit corporation organized to provide and promote social, educational, rehabilitative, recreational and employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.
Description:
PEP helps individuals with developmental disabilities to gain skills to be more independent and employed. PEP provides assistance to those who may not be able to afford services. PEP provides a safe and social environment for individuals with developmental disabilities and seniors citizens.
History:
PEP has served individuals with developmental disabilities and their families for almost forty years. PEP was established by a group of mothers who needed a summer program for their children with developmental disabilities to attend. Camp PEP then became the foundation for what is now Programs Employing People. Those mothers fought hard for what PEP is today. Some of the mothers still hold seats on the PEP board were they continue to fight for those individuals with developmental disabilities and their families to have a safe and social environment to come to.
