The mission of the Fox Chase Cancer Center is "To reduce the burden of human cancer." The vision for Volunteer Services is to provide enhanced and expanded services across the spectrum of scientific, clinical and administrative areas.

As a major comprehensive cancer center, Fox Chase Cancer Center volunteers play a unique role here at Fox Chase. There are volunteer positions available throughout the hospital, research laboratories and a wide variety of administrative offices.
History:
Fox Chase Cancer Center is one of the nation's first comprehensive cancer centers. Divided into three divisions, Basic Science, Medical Science and Population Science, this research and educational institution focus is sole on the cause, cure and prevention of cancer. The Hospital of Fox Chase Cancer Center was the first hospital in the nation that treated only cancer. Treating cancer "all day, every day" has enabled numerous research scientists to make remarkable discoveries which have impacted the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Prevention of cancer has been the focus of another large group of scientists. In each of these areas, volunteers have continued to work along side clinicians and scientists.
