Brandywine Counseling, Inc. is a substance abuse treatment agency that provides counseling and related assistance to addicted persons and their families for chemical addiction and related problems.
Description:
Nearly 2,000 Delaware residents age 18 or over are enrolled in a BCI treatment program. We also provide outreach and education to thousands more individuals each year who are not active in treatment. We currently have seven sites throughout the state of Delaware. Our staff of 130 includes certified alcohol and drug counselors, registered and licensed practical nurses, psychologists, and physicians who work closely with clients and their families. Our services address the client's addiction directly, as well as the side effects of addiction, such as chronic illness, criminal activity, family issues, and unemployment. Our programs provide intervention and treatment through the use of medication, counseling, education, and referral to self-help groups. Appropriate aftercare referrals provide continuing support for recovery.
History:
Originally part of Wilmington Medical Center, BCI was incorporated as a separate non-profit in 1985. Today we are Delaware's largest provider of outpatient addiction services. Our operations meet strict federal and state health care guidelines. We have been a full member United Way agency since 1988.
