The mission of Maternity Care Coalition is to improve maternal and child health and wellbeing through the collaborative efforts of individuals, families, providers and communities.
Description:
MCC and its signature program, the MOMobile, work to connect pregnant women and their families to prenatal, well baby, and other needed services, and empower pregnant women to make the healthiest choices possible for their babies and themselves. MCC has served more than 60,000 families in neighborhoods affected by poverty, infant mortality, and changing patterns of immigration. MCC’s Cribs for Kids Program addresses the high rate of infant mortality in Philadelphia due to unsafe sleeping conditions. MCC gives a free crib to families who otherwise are unable to purchase one, along with training on safe sleeping practices. Over the past two years, Cribs for Kids has distributed 4,400 safe cribs in the Greater Philadelphia area!
History:
Since 1980 Maternity Care Coalition has been bringing together people who care about the health and well-being of pregnant women, infants and young children, and high risk families.
