Thank you for visiting The Schuylkill Center's Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic and trusting us with your injured animal. As you have witnessed, the Clinic provides a unique, caring environment for injured, orphaned, and sick wildlife, and features an outstanding wildlife education and information program.

Description:
The Clinic is currently staffed by a full-time licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator, a full-time Administrator and a part-time Assistant Rehabilitator. It also relies on a dedicated group of about 20 volunteers, who perform all duties necessary to care for our animal patients. Frequent volunteer sessions are held for those interested in helping out in this way. For the past 18 years, the demand for the Clinic's treatment, public information, and education resources has dramatically increased. We treat about 4,000-5,000 animals each year and people travel from near and far to seek the Clinic's assistance.

History:
The Wildlife Clinic is a key educational component of The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education located at 8480 Hagy's Mill Road. Since its inception in 1965, The Schuylkill Center has been a sanctuary within the city of Philadelphia dedicated to the preservation of the natural flora and fauna of our region. Each year thousands of school children learn important lessons of preserving our natural world. The Center has developed many innovative programs such as the Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic, water quality monitoring, summer camps, nature excursions, teacher training, community gardens and much more.
