Inglis House is a specialty nursing care facility serving younger adults, 17 years and older, with physical disabilities. Our mission is to work with people with disabilities to create and provide practical solutions so they may pursue their life goals. We offer long-term nursing care for 297 residents as well an adult day care program. Inglis House accepts volunteers year round and also hosts a Junior Volunteer Program for teenagers 15 and older during the summer.

Since Inglis House serves active residents age 17 and up, we offer a wide variety of recreational, education and spiritual programs and activities that appeal to people of all ages. Volunteers are always welcome and both long- and short-term opportunities are available. Inglis is committed to the ethical care, treatment and quality of life for our clients.

Inglis' parent organization - Inglis Foundation - extends this mission of care and service to people with physical disabilities living outside of Inglis House.

History:
In Philadelphia in 1875, 18-year old Annie Inglis knew she was dying and gave her mother a gold dollar to be used to raise funds to help establish a home for children with disabilities. Within two years her mother raised enough money to charter a “home for incurables” - as it was called then. For over 130 years, Inglis House has provided quality care and services for people with disabilities, many of little means or options.
