Exhibition and Conservation of North and South American Wildlife. The support of environmental and wildlife education.
Description:
The 16-acre Zoo is home to some 200 animals and 80 species groups. Here you'll see most of the animals you'd expect to see at any large zoo, but the setting is park-like and relaxed.
History:
Since 1924 the Norristown Zoological Society has operated the wonderful little Elmwood Park Zoo to enrich its community, to aid conservation efforts, to pursue ecological goals and to educate the public about these things as well as give them a chance to become better acquainted with a variety of wildlife.
