Description:
The American Red Cross, Lower Bucks County Chapter provides services troughout the Bucks County area: Disaster Preparedness Relief--team of trained disaster volunteers is on call 24 hours a day and are responsible for meeting the urgent needs of victims providing shelter, food, and clothing; Armed Forces Emergency Services--provides emergency communications between local family members and the U.S. Armed Forces throughout the world, relaying messages about births, deaths, and serious illness through a worldwide communication network; also arrange emergency leave and provide financial assistance and counseling; Health & Safety--provides CPR, First Aid, Water Safety, Babysitting and Pet First Aid, training and education to help people respond to emergencies or prevent them from happening; International Social Services--helps people trace family members in other countries from whom they have been separated as a result of disaster and internal conflict; Shelter Services--provides coordinated and comprehensive services for homeless families; Homeless Hotline; Community Services--includes youth programs, educational, courses available to schools and interactive Summer Youth Program, advocates youth volunteerism and safety education. Lifeline Services - provides a personal response button to those living on their own who may need emergency help.

History:
The American Red Cross, Lower Bucks County Chapter was founded on July 1, 1956. The Chapter is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and operates under the approval of the National American Red Cross. Services include; Service to the Armed Forces and Veterans; local, national and international disaster relief; first aid, CPR, and water safety instruction; volunteer support for the collection of blood; Lifeline, an emergency response system; shelter services, a homeless shelter for individuals and families and the operation of a 24-hour Homeless Hotline coordinating the county's homeless services and providing homeless individuals ready access to all of the social services in Bucks County.

Directions:
 From Route 1 Super Highway, heading north: Exit at Maple Avenue (Route 213). At end of ramp, turn left. Make an immediate right on Flowers Mill Road at traffic light. At next light, continue straight across Business Route 1 - you are now on Route 413 South. Continue straight through three stop lights. Approximately 100 yds. after the the third stop light (Frosty Hollow Rd.), we are located on the left at the corner of Oakland Ave. and Rt. 413. From I-95, heading north: Exit at Route 413 (Bristol). At traffic light at end of ramp, turn left. Continue straight on Route 413 through 3 traffic lights (The 3rd light is at New Falls Road: Burger King on near left corner.) Approximately 100 yds. before the next traffic light (Frosty Hollow Rd.), we are located on the right, across from Racquet Club Apartments, at the corner of Oakland Ave. From I-95, heading south: Exit 44 at Business Route 1 (Penndel). At end of ramp, turn left. At the second traffic light (less than one block's distance), turn right on Route 413, South. Continue straight through three stop lights. Approximately 100 yds. after the the third stop light (Frosty Hollow Rd.), we are located on the left at the corner of Oakland Ave. and Rt. 413. If you get to a 4th light, you've gone too far.
