Brian's House, Inc. provides a broad range of human services to people with special needs and challenges. The primary goal is to maximize each individual potential while ensuring a high quality of life for everyone served.
Description:
Brian's House serves over 100 individuals with mental retardation in community homes. Brian's House, a private licensed facility, serves individuals with severe disabilities in need of skilled nursing care. Camp Joy, located in lower Montgomery County, provides eleven weeks of summer camp and weekend respite camps for over 300 children and adults with disabilities each year. Brian's House Enterprises, in Downingtown, provides comprehensive vocational services for adults with disabilities, including job skills training and employment.
History:
Brian's House, Inc. was founded in 1976. Residential programs for persons with disabilities have continued to expand in response to demand. Individuals served are generally referred through county Mental Health/Mental Retardation agencies. Brian's House assumed ownership of Camp Joy in 1990 and purchased a permanent campsite in 1994. In 1996, Brian's House, Inc. affiliated with Woods Services of Langhorne. In 1998, a vocational program offering job skills training and employment for adults with disabilities was established in Downingtown.

Brian's House is located at 1300 S. Concord Road in West Chester. Take 202 south of West Chester to 926. Turn left, proceeding east on 926 to S. Concord Road. Turn right on S. Concord Road and continue through narrow roadway to stop sign at top of hill. Just beyond, turn right into driveway flanked by stone walls.
