The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County is to provide quality volunteer and professional services, primarily through mentoring and leadership development. We make a positive difference to Bucks County children and youth by aiding them to achieve their highest potential as they grow to become responsible adults.

Our approach is to build and guide an enduring, stable, supportive relationship between a caring adult and child. Mentoring is fun and enriching for both the mentor and child. YOU can be a mentor--just as you are. The distinguishing characteristics of our mentors is that they are honest, consistent and committed to making a difference in a child's life. Extending your hand and heart is easy with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County. Plus, mentoring only requires a couple of hours each month yet makes an enormous difference in the life of a child. Self-confidence, self-esteem and positive behaviors and attitudes are naturally developed and improved when a kind-hearted adult is involved in a child's life. Big Brothers/Big Sisters is the largest national network of mentoring organizations serving children, families, volunteers, and communities. Join us -- and have some fun! History:
Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Bucks County is a private, non-profit organization affiliated with the national organization Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America and a member agency of United Way of Bucks County. Originally Big Brothers and Big Sisters operated separately in Bucks County. Big Brothers was formed in 1963 by a group of concerned educators from Centennial School District, and Aid for Girls, which later became Big Sisters, was established in 1971 by the Doylestown Branch of the American Association of University Women. Big Sisters and Big Brothers merged to become one organization in 1987.
