Volunteers of America Delaware Valley provides community-based assistance to population in need so that they can lead self-fulfilled, independent lives.
Description:
Founded in 1896, Volunteers of America is a national, spiritual based organization providing human services programs, and opportunities for individual and community involvement. In the Delaware Valley, Volunteers of America provides a wide variety of programs for persons experiencing homelessness, seeking and living in permanent housing, struggling with addictive behaviors, possessing chronic mental illness and returning to society from the criminal justice system. Some of the support services offered are: Individual Assessment, Case Management and Counseling; Life Skills Training; Job Readiness, Placement and Retention Training; Cognitive Restructuring Classes; Substance Abuse Education and Relapse Prevention; Personal Finance Management; Transportation; Adult Basic Education and GED; Child Enrichment and Day Care; Community Service Projects; Nutrious Balanced Meals and Recreation.

Volunteers of America is a national, nonprofit, spiritually based organization providing local humans service programs and opportunities for individual and community involvement. Volunteers of America was founded in 1896 by Christian social reformers Ballington and Maud Booth as a broad spiritual movement to "reach and uplift" the American people.
