The Foundation to Benefit Our Seniors works diligently to inform those 55+ of the many benefit programs that can help seniors lead a better life. We screen people for all of the benefit programs and then help them obtain those that they are entitled to.
Description:
The Foundation to Benefit Our Seniors is helping to streamline access and secure benefits for many seniors. BenefitsCheckUp is an online tool that screens seniors for every federal, state, and local benefit program. Within 15 minutes people are able to find out everything that they are entitled to receive based on factors such as age and income. BenefitsCheckUp requires no private information such as a Social Security Number, name and address. After completing the questionnaire seniors are provided with a report of everything they qualify for. The report includes a brief description of the benefit, where to go closest to their home, and what information and documentation they have to bring with them when they go to apply for the benefit. BenefitsCheckUp has over 1,100 programs, everything from tax rebate, nutrition programs, medical assistance, transportation, help with energy bills and weatherization, even volunteer and employment opportunities! BenefitsCheckUp also has a partner program BenefitsCheckUp RX that screens for discounts and free prescription benefits through the pharmaceutical companies. BenefitsCheckUp truly is modernizing the public benefit system, making it easy to find every program that individuals are entitled to.
History:
The Foundation to Benefit Our Seniors was established in September of 2002 with our primary focus being the successful execution of the BenefitsCheckUp program. BenefitsCheckUp is part of a national initiative conducted by The National Counsel on the Aging to make it easier for the public to access information about resources that are available to them. BenefitsCheckUp is revolutionizing the way consumers connect with benefit programs by providing a "one stop shop" for the many benefit programs that exist, but too few people know about.
