We feel called as a community of faith to provide quality English language instruction to our neighbors. We also feel called to provide a community for our students, many of whom are here alone and find themselves lonely in a new country.

Description:
We offer English as a Second Language classes and private ESL tutoring to adult students in the Mercer County, NJ, area. We offer 4 core English classes--from beginners to advanced--and a rotating program of electives: Writing, Computers, Pronunciation, Speaking, American Culture, etc. The core of our program is the tutoring. There are many different options for students looking to learn English. What makes our program different and what makes a difference in our students' lives is the tutoring component of the school. The students love the fact that they have someone who speaks English who works with them one on one. Someone who speaks English and helps them with their unique problems. Someone who speaks English who is actually smiling at them and is happy to see them. When our students get frustrated and want to quit, it is the tutors who encourage them to keep trying and to keep coming to class. Our program is dependent on YOU - a volunteer English tutor from the community who wants to give something back to your community by becoming a tutor, and a friend, to your neighbors.

History:
The English School opened its doors in the fall of 2004. The volunteers who began the program are dedicated to serving this community and filling a need for inexpensive, quality English as a Second Language instruction in Mercer County, NJ.
