SCS Mission: To promote independent and meaningful living for older adults through direct services and programs in the home and community.

Description:
Senior Community Services is a non profit agency serving the elderly of Delaware County since 1977 it is our desire to keep older adults living independently in the community. To achieve this goal, SCS operates four nationally accredited senior centers, Chester Senior Center in Chester city, Friendship Circle in Yeadon, Good Neighbor in Darby Twp and Schoolhouse in Folsom, all centers are accredited by (NCOA) National Council on Aging. Our activity centers are for mature adults, we provide hot meals, wellness and healthy living programs, recreation, travel, adventure activities, education, peer counseling, social activities. We also offer enrichment classes such as computers, watercolor painting, wood carving, safe driving skills, exercise, Tai Chi, Yoga and dancing. Other opportunities include advisory board membership, benefit of health screening and programs for hearing impaired, companionship, many volunteer and leadership opportunities. History:
Senior Community Services(SCS), is a non profit agency that began in 1977 through the joint efforts of Delaware County Services for the Aging (COSA) and some concerned citizens. Starting with one center Good Neighbor in Darby Township. SCS has developed into a strong community organization. We offer a broad array of services for active adults as well as homebound older adults. Our services include, senior centers, care management, counseling and Family Caregiver Support.
