Description:
What do we offer? We offer customized horsemanship and therapeutic horseback riding instruction, as well as Hippotherapy (physical therapy utilizing the movement of the horse) to individuals of all ages with cognitive, emotional or physical challenges. Why are therapeutic riding and hippotherapy benificial? The interaction between humans and horses has recognizable therapeutic benefits. Many of our riders are referred to Ivy Hill from educators and medical professionals with the goal of achieving specific physical, emotional and cognitive accomplishments. Our specialized programs are designed for the needs of each rider and can facilitate a variety of positive achievements in areas such as physical, cognitive, and emotional.
History:
Ivy Hill has opened in 1999 in a small back yard farm. We have since moved locations and are serving more than 30 riders per week as well as holing some specialty programs and camps. Ivy Hill also has over 70 volunteer that help us out with day to day functioning as well as managing the program. Programs are customized to meet the objectives of individuals and organizations.
